After a busy year with releases on mighty labels such as WRKTRX and UKR, Austrian DJ/Producer Uncertain brings forth four swinging techno tracks on Snatch EP released by S-File’s GND Records.
The title track “Snatch” starts off the EP with heavy vocal sampling and fast-paced jackin’ drums. Chicago influences are prevalent in the diva vocal cut ups and swinging percussion lines that jack your body the second the record starts.
“Gruuv” comes in next with more swinging madness. Jazzy horn samples that you are more likely to find in house music raise the dance floor energy to mountainous heights while the drum patterns supply the unrelenting pure techno feel that never quits.
“Geto” somewhat switches up the vibe with a more minimal approach to the sound selections. Making full use of each drum part to fill the frequency spectrum, only a few reverb builds and filtering techniques take you out of the trance state induced by the repeating siren synth and vocal chops.
Uncertain completes the masterfully produced EP at its fastest pace with the 135bpm stormer “Ride.” Longer builds and an unstoppable groove are ready to take any already-energetic dance floor to the next level. Complete with snare rolls and dynamic, spry hi-hats that drive the high frequencies full of character, the final track lets you off the hook with a distinct taste that will have you asking for more.
