Malta producer Jeremy Bordieri aka Antidote MT returns to Mike Derer’s Northern Parallels for the third consecutive year with a new EP of hypnotic, driving techno. Three mind-bending efforts take you on a journey through the unknown guided by pounding kick drums, acid accents and supermassive reverbs in this impressive release from the young prolific producer. Cleveland native Anthony Jimenez sweetens the deal with immaculate mastering to provide a welcome listening experience.
Inner Dimensions EP fires up with “Inverted” to set the tone with a mystique that follows throughout the record. A giant reverb swooshes around like ominous wind in a horror movie as the thumping kick and psychedelic main synth line do the heavy lifting in this opener. FX injections run rampant while the hi hats and percussion lock down the groove as Bordieri guides you deep into the depths of uncharted territory.
Next up “Dimensions” drags you farther into the abyss yet adjacent to its prior setting. A tightly-grooved syncopated bassline joins the relentless kick to cover the low end while a springy, acidic synth bounces around. Covering the high frequencies again are void-like reverbs and delays hiding behind an abundance of cunning and groovy hi hat patterns that progress and recede as the track moves along its compelling dark techno expedition.
“Wrinkles” finishes the EP with a bang. It stomps through the final edge of the Malta producers sonic odyssey presented throughout the record. With a beat even more deranged than the prior offerings, the pulverizing kick takes center stage with more room to breathe and relentlessly thrusts into your soul, luring you into the entrancing environment that surrounds it. An original offering from Antidote MT that makes you want to seek additional therapy from this emergent techno mind.
Inner Dimensions EP is available on Northern Parallels’ Bandcamp page.
