Major rave energy is packaged in a slick format across “Self Control” by Moldovan producer, Goldfader. The track commands attention from the first measure and doesn’t let off the gas pedal until the finish line.
Ourlegacy Records is an independent label headed by Goldfader and based out of Berlin. Dance floor weapons galore can be found across the label’s discography.
The single, “Self Control”, begins with a funky chord fluctuation that instills a sense of excitement, like an action star getting ready to begin an epic car chase with the police. Amen breaks crash and bang as the scene grows more tense with added acid squelching taking on the role of screeching tires. The muffled synth waves crescendo outward resembling a European sport car’s tuned exhaust system.
Hyperbole aside, “Self Control” encapsulates a wonderful rave experience in the span of just over four and a half minutes. Goldfader must be stoked on the results of the obvious hard work put into this track, which by any standard, is a winner. It’s not difficult to envision the tune being rung up in peak energy situations, whether at the club or a dark, foggy warehouse.
2022 has already seen some resurgence in rave-based, happy-go-lucky style releases, and Goldfader is eagerly willing to support.
