Measure Divide – “Evidence of a Rhythmic Pattern” (Clergy) [October 7, 2022]

Underground party purveyor, Fahad Ahmad, aka Measure Divide delivers five Minimal Techno tracks on the latest release from Manchester powerhouse Clergy, titled “Evidence of a Rhythmic Pattern”.

“Evidence of a Rhythmic Pattern” EP combines mind-warping flavors and groovy precision to an exceptional degree. There is a deep-seeded sense of wonder in the music, like a boat trip with Willy Wonka. A narcotic effect is placed on the listeners ears with a pulsating bass keeping things on the proverbial path. On one hand, you get primal, driving energy and on the other, you have high-tech, sci-fi elements. Deep layers of musical skill are intelligently presented in this extremely crisp package that brings versatility to the table as dancefloor tools, or even as an after party indulgence.

The Clergy label boasts world class acts such as Dax J, James Ruskin, and Temudo. This marks their 27th output, and following the fashion of the top-shelf caliber found in previous releases, Measure Divide transports his audience to a trippy, fun world of Techno. Things get fleshy and tribal on the title track, “Evidence of a Rhythmic Pattern,” as it stays true to its title, showing off a sharp display of percussion and rhythm. There is standard Minimal Techno at the core of these tunes but a keen sense for just the right amount of groove as premium sound effects are like the cherry on top of an already stacked sundae. “333” offers strands of Broken Beats, Ambient, and Jungle all wrapped into this 3-and-a-half-minute journey. The silky smooth and skillfully mastered final track on the EP, “Considerably Longer Tones,” has a soothing, ultra-reverberated, wind-like effect that guides the track harmoniously as warm yet sharp chords buzz in and out like a swarm of insects in the Texas summertime.

“Evidence of a Rhythmic Pattern” is a high-class release from Measure Divide. It is progressive and futuristic but with raw dance energy and elegant sophistication. If you are interested in purchasing Evidence of a Rhythmic Pattern, please visit and support at the Bandcamp link provided above.
