Noboot – “DRM LIGHT” (Noboot) [October 13, 2022]

Blissful breaks and raw emotion shine bright in Noboot’s latest, “DRM LIGHT”. The hardware and production wizard seemingly can’t miss as they churn out pleasurable tracks like they’re 25 cent gumballs.

Noboot certainly set themselves apart, maintaining a patented style and utilizing esoteric breaks, sometimes with an Electro twist. The chunky and fresh “DRM LIGHT” touches on the heartstrings with melancholic, wavy chords and subtle, chopped percussion. Spacey and grounded at the same time, Noboot deploys a beautiful reverence in both tunes that spawn an introspective ambience.

“Dream strikes in space” is a floating journey that drives home a precise high end expertly, leaving a sense of wonder in the air. A THX-esque beginning sequence spawns a lovely atmosphere for the quintessential kick, snare, clap to come in and do its thing. Reverberated keys hum a soft melody as the chords continue to wash in and out like a Pacific Ocean high tide. Sci-fi sound effects bring home the bacon as they synergize with a funky acid line, tying all the parts together in sonic harmony. There is an impressive amount of substance in six short minutes and Noboot should be applauded for their adept composition.

“lost one” is similar in style to its counterpart, “dream strikes in space” with its groovy percussive strikes and pensive headspace. Glockenspiel rattles off like a batch of freshly lit firecrackers, meanwhile booming kicks keep the rhythm flowing. Not quite a dancefloor ripper, “lost one” rides more like a late night (or early morning) cognizant dreamscape.

An enchanting journey of subtle, yet poignant breaks from Noboot on “DRM LIGHT” proves a gentle approach can be just as impactful as a forceful one. Organic sounding and also futuristic, “DRM LIGHT” oozes passion from the get-go and invites patrons to hop on board for the ride. Please visit this stellar release at the link provided above.
