Techno icon Ben Sims welcomes rising star Inox Traxx to his Hardgroove imprint with “Snap Into My Sonic” EP.
In August of last year, Inox Traxx scored her first release on one of Ben Sims’ infamous imprints, SYMBOLISM. Now her latest EP, titled “Snap into my Sonic,” makes its way to one of his other renowned imprints, HARDGROOVE, further cementing her as an up and comer with a very bright future ahead.
Starting off the EP is the track “Into My Soul”—a cut reminiscent of a classic Techno anthem with a modern twist. Right away, Inox Traxx flaunts her big, warm, and wide sound with a thumping kick and massive chord stabs. Various hats, claps, and ride, interchange, building momentum, then dial it back in true Inox fashion. Next up, the track “I Got To Try” combines cutting-edge hypnotic grooves with a classic vocal sample that the crowd is sure to sing along with. The moody aggression of this cut is nicely juxtaposed by the familiar soulful voice, which despite its mass appeal, somehow in this case, manages to hold on to an “underground” sensibility and appeal.
Track three ventures into entirely new sonic territory. “Effekt Symph” begins with a wispy mechanical loop and rises into a grand orchestral crescendo. Gritty and pumping, this track is perfect as a highly effective dancefloor weapon. The fourth cut, “In the Jungle,” cools things down with a much more nuanced and stripped-back percussive suite. Polyphonic rhythms take turns for precedence, then intertwine, keeping you on your toes and ready for what’s next. To close things out, Inox Traxx finishes strong with the delirium-inducing track, “Remember Me.” Perhaps best suited for the end of a long night of dancing, this track sounds much darker than the rest, yet full of pep and vigor.
