Futuristic and deadly Techno arrives courtesy of the LA-based modular wizard David Castellani with “Hyperstop” including a smoldering hot Acid remix from the one and only DJ Ken Ishii.
“Hyperstop” releases on Davids’ recently conceived Techno imprint, Noetic. Described as “intuitively gaining knowledge via psychedelic or mystical experiences”—in this case, the catalyst comes from a fiercely dedicated analog sound that Castellani is known for.
“Hyperstop” plays out like an f-zero race with its ultra-chic sound palate and sci-fi undertones. Whirring aerodynamics coupled alongside crisp percussion generate sophisticated grooves and state of the art Techno. The analog-forward jam is wonderfully tweaked and tuned to hit just the right frequencies, inspiring thoughts of speed and dancing. No doubt, the track will see circulation in the electronic Ender dwellings of LA and beyond.
The fantastic remix by Techno O.G. Ken Ishii includes a wide array of acid bleeps and blips as well as a storming drum kit. The synth work has an almost Mattel-like toy sound to it in the best possible way. It definitely carries that old-school rave energy. Bouncing chords blend brilliantly with open hi hats and cymbals, amplifying the tension to a boiling point. The listener will be rollin’ and scratchin’ all the way to the end of “Hyperstop”.
David Castellani continues to impress on technical and creative levels, and it is only furthered with the latest Noetic release. Surely, the icing on the proverbial cake comes from the lended expertise from Japan’s Ken Ishii. The offerings on “Hyperstop” are solid—evolving tunes any way you break it down.
