Vesy – Resonance ● Eighty-Two (Resonance Music) [March 27, 2023]

Deep and Minimal House intersect as Milan-based producer Vesy drops “Resonance ● Eighty-Two” on Amsterdam’s Resonance Music for one of his best EPs to date.

Vesy is an up-and-coming producer who’s steadily taking the underground House scene by storm. Over the last six years, he has put out several high-quality EPs on some truly exceptional labels, each sounding more polished than the last. Now, Vesy’s latest EP, titled “Resonance ● Eighty-Two” out on Amsterdam’s Resonance Music demonstrates just how far this producer has come.

The very first track, titled “Foundation Itself,” kicks things off with an infectious bass line and a smattering of delectable timbres. Smooth like silk, yet thick like molasses, this intro steadily chugs along and checks all the boxes for a House track—a rare gem that can appeal to novices and fanatics of the genre alike. Kicking up the pace ever so slightly is the second track, “Frequencies.” Brighter percussion and gliding airy pads breath life into this tune and make it more suitable for an open-air soirée. Intricate drum fills help to prevent fatigue, keeping you locked in and eager for more.

Resonance Music’s latest release by Vesy is a rare and perfect amalgamation of Deep and Minimal house; a glimpse into where the two genres are headed and what happens when they intersect.

Next is “Teh Coolest Around,” and, no, that isn’t a typo. Light and breezy, with a delicate pitter-patter of a low end, track three of this EP is a journey to get lost in. Just when you’re thinking there’s no way all four selections can be winners, Vesy defies all odds with one last delightfully soothing groove. “What I Have,” the final cut on the release, dips into a slightly deeper, darker mood, as if the sun setting could be heard. Meandering synth lines effortlessly float by, while a petite conga line keeps thing rolling. From start to finish, Vesy has assembled an EP that represents some of his best work to date, it makes for a welcome addition to any House DJ’s arsenal.
