AutoClub – “Apparition” EP (Kajunga Records) [September 22, 2023]

Minneapolis cornerstones and well-derived savants of analog technologies in the studio, AutoClub (Autokinetic and Midnight Music Club) bring forward deep Dub tonalities and intrinsically technical aspects of ambiance and groove-laden textures across “Apparition” EP for their first release in 3 years on the notorious Kajunga Records.

Mike Mclure and Craig Lambert are, in their own rights, well known figureheads in their respective musical tenures. Having established themselves in the studio and beyond as tactful and talented artists, they’ve created a notable backing in both their individual artist monikers as Autokinetic (Mike Mclure) and Midnight Music Club (Craig Lambert). In addition to their individual successes, the duo has made a resounding impact musically through their works together as AutoClub.

As if the accolades and previous works didn’t make enough of an impact, their latest “Apparition” EP also shines through due to it being the 10th release out of Kajunga Records. This underground imprint has more than derived a respectable position in the region for their ongoing dedication to the craft and curation of cerebral, out of the norm styles and tastes.

The “Apparitions” EP features deep, Dub textures alongside House-influenced sound designs to offer well-thought out tracks that curate an almost hypnotic feel to the entire release. From late nights to early mornings, the release takes a serious dive into technical ambiances that have made for a staple in the duo’s previous works on Kajunga.

The album has already sold out of the limited edition test presses and where the physical records are concerned, if history is any indicator, the release is slated to sell out of the physical copies quickly for good reason. This is a well-placed cut for any House and Techno-centric artists and connoisseurs alike.
