Klint – “Immersive Culture” EP (CLR) [January 26, 2024]

All of the support from some of Techno’s most respected DJs only affirms that the music being produced by the Montpierre native is of the truest quality. We got the chance to ask Klint a few questions about his latest four-track project as well as his personal life and artist career leading up to the EP’s official release.

The EP starts off frank and direct with a dense kick drum and in your face hats advising that you are in for a grounding experience. Bouncing keys create a rhythm sure to make those dancefloor warriors groove. All four songs are so perfectly and elaborately arranged that we simply can’t blame Klint for not wanting to share what hardware he used. All we know is that the percussion across the entire release is infectious and keeps you yearning for more.

Dirty Epic: The EP’s title track, “Immersive Culture,” is quite the thrill. Where did the lyrics come from?

Klint: I recorded the vocals with a friend in his studio in Melbourne during my trip 7 years ago… I never managed to do anything serious with it until this track!

DE: You’ve already received support from some of the most respected names, such as Radioslave, Rødhåd, Slam, and Truncate. This has to be an exhilarating time for you as most aspire to be mentioned in the same conversation as some of these guys. What does it mean to you?

Klint: It means a lot to me. Being supported and played by these Techno legends is awesome! I have traveled miles to see them play in clubs, and now to be able to chat with them about my music and even signing on their label is something magical.

DE: You’ve released music on local LA hero Truncate’s Record label. Both “Apache” and “Ninth Circle” received high praise from the community. What did it mean to you to have a release on Truncate?

Klint: I have always dug David’s music, and I like the energy of his label. Signing on Truncate was really a personal goal as well as a challenge. For both releases, we spent a year trying to find the right tracks and the right sonorities. He is one of those artists who gives a lot to newcomers, and I really thank him for that.

DE: You’ve been officially releasing music for just over two and a half years. You’ve signed with some elite labels like Soma, Truncate, Planet Rhythm, and now CRL. What release has meant the most or impacted your career the most?

Klint: I am very grateful to have the trust of these amazing labels. Each release has been special to me, like when Marco from Planet Rhythm gave me the chance to release my first vinyl release or when Alan Fitzpatrick invited me on a 12″ alongside Luke Slater. Of course this release on CLR is awesome. To me, Chris Liebing is a very humble person. He gave me an incredible chance with this EP. If I had to choose one though, it would be the “Apache” EP released on Truncate in 2022. The support has been incredible, and it has brought me great opportunities.

DE: Being a father is one of the toughest jobs for anyone on the planet. Having to juggle both being an artist as well as a father has to be a huge task. How do you manage this?

Klint: It’s not easy actually, most of the time I get up at 4 a.m. to produce music before taking care of my son and going to work. This allows me to spend time with my family in the evening.

We are truly pleased with the work that Klint has been publishing. He is sure to continue shaking dancefloors for years to come. His humbleness is also very inspiring to see within our community. Looking forward to more releases from him in this coming year and wishing him the best of luck on his latest release.
