After a nearly 2-year long hiatus, Insical is back with his long awaited 3rd release from CMND | CTRL records that hit digital stores on August 16th.
Titled “CTRL057”, this EP stays true to the sound and style that CMND | CTRL Records has become known for—showcasing artists’ expression of music through technology, immersion, and innovation.
Techno fans will love this 4-track EP packed with dark, hypnotic Techno that Insical’s fans will quickly recognize. Interesting and truly unique sequences and modular tones define each track on this EP as the listener goes on a journey of emotions expressed through technology by the artist himself.
Syncopated kicks and evolving modular sequences bring listeners fully into the world of Insical on the track “Mildew”. The curiously ominous sounds build an immersive track that is not just a groover, but a truly deep and hypnotic piece.
“Robocall” is one of the more fun tracks on this EP that features a catchy and groovy loop that evolves from a background texture into the lead sound.
Contributing to this EP with a rework of “Robocall” is LA-based Techno DJ/producer Jonny Maven. His remix perfectly showcases both artists’ styles while staying true to the energy of the entire EP.
My personal favorite track on this EP is “Time Dilation,” because of its dark, deep rhythms, eerie sonics, and evolving Techno textures.
