Minneapolis Techno cornerstone and global phenomenon DVS1 returns to his homegrown label HUSH with “HUSH 06” for the imprint’s first release in almost 3 years.
It’s no secret that DVS1 has been an influential figure in the Midwest Techno movement and beyond over the years, from his influence abroad playing Berghain to his touring Wall of Sound focused on the core values of the music, pairing immense stacks of sound with the removal of a spotlight on the performers and a shift to full immersion in sound. Alongside his vast resume of musical accolades and accomplishments over the years, DVS1 has also played a vital role in the advocacy for change in the music industry with his Aslice platform which allows touring acts to share their profits with the artists and producers that created the music they played during their sets and mixes.
Musically, DVS1 has always had an outpouring of groundbreaking and influential releases over the years, whether on the imprints of others or on his own labels, like Mistress Recordings or the illustrious HUSH, which has been silent for almost 3 years. That is, until now.
After almost 3 years, DVS1 returns to HUSH with 3 select cuts of defined tracks encompassing the notable sound that has been the center of what comes to mind when the moniker comes into conversation. “HUSH 06” features stripped-back minimalism coupled with pulsating low frequencies that power through the tracks and showcase the versatile and tactful nature of the style that’s become synonymous with the name.
The entire release is a well placed re-entry to the HUSH name and would be a well-placed addition to any collector of the HUSH history or Techno aficionado alike.
