Demuja – “Bring Back Love” EP (Permanent Vacation) [September 11, 2024]

Demuja, the Austrian producer known for his deep and soulful approach to House music, returns with his highly anticipated “Bring Back Love” on the revered Permanent Vacation label. With this EP, Demuja crafts a soundscape that is both a love letter to classic House and a forward-thinking journey through the many textures of Electronic music.

The first track, “Will You Hate Me,” immediately grabs attention with its infectious groove and lush, melodic layers. Demuja has always excelled at creating warm atmospheres, and here, he ups the ante with shimmering pads and a soulful vocal sample that elevates the track to anthemic status. It’s a nostalgic nod to the golden days of House while incorporating contemporary production techniques that give it a polished, modern feel. Its message, calling for unity and love on the dancefloor, feels especially resonant, inviting listeners into an emotional, communal experience.

“Is It Really Love (Dub)” follows, taking on a more raw, stripped-back approach. Here, Demuja leans into a grittier, club-ready vibe with a deep bassline and syncopated percussion that immediately hooks you in. It’s less melodic and more focused on creating an irresistible groove that evokes the underground ethos of House and Techno. The track’s hypnotic nature pulls you into a loop of late-night dance energy—a perfect homage to warehouse parties and raw, unfiltered music.

“Back For More” introduces a more kinetic and energetic element to the EP. With its driving beat, punchy kick drums, and repetitive vocal chant, the track is pure dancefloor dynamism. There’s an immediacy to this track, with Demuja layering Techno-influenced percussion over soulful House elements, creating a compelling fusion of styles. It’s as much a peak-time club banger as it is a soulful groove—an example of Demuja’s talent for blending various influences into one seamless whole.

Rounding off the EP is “What To Do With That,” for a track that feels like the sonic embodiment of Demuja’s ethos. It’s a slower, smoother piece with warm chords and an effortlessly cool bassline that transports the listener to a place of deep introspection. The use of subtle vocal snippets and jazzy chord progressions adds a level of sophistication, making it a standout track that perfectly encapsulates the EP’s essence. This is House music at its most elegant and thoughtful, proving that Demuja is a master of balancing the rhythmic with the melodic.

Demuja perfectly captures the spirit of House music in its many forms—uplifting, raw, and deeply emotional—with this “Bring Back Love”. Released on Permanent Vacation, the entire EP feels like a perfect match for a label that has always championed boundary-pushing Electronic music while staying true to the soulful roots of dance culture. Demuja not only honors the history of house music but also pushes it into new, exciting territories, creating an EP that will resonate with both long-time fans and newcomers alike.

This is a standout release for 2024, cementing Demuja’s reputation as one of the most versatile and consistent producers in the scene today.
