Rosati – “Divine Nostalgia” (Fuse Imprint)

We’re already through ten releases of the historic Belgian club’s Fuse Imprint… after just 2 short years since they revived the label!

Rosati takes the 11th spot and proves they aren’t slowing down. Rosati provides a lot of focused ideas with a minimally treated sound set and lots of proper techno vibes. It also is a great layup for the mastering work of Altinbas, as he creates a sound that has the quality and feel of the famed engineers at Dubplates and Mastering.

“Divine Nostalgia” offers a noticeably high quality techno sound throughout. On the creative side, Rosati establishes a theme of calm and control with the extended chord hits of “Division” and “Echoes,” including a lot of the feeling of pressure, providing a sense of tension alongside the silvery swinging hats. “Orbital” takes it a bit further, fortifying these ideas with strength and increased energy in the top end; it’s certainly the standout of the release.

The title track has a lot of strange dissonance in the previously mentioned chord hits that are present in the EP. Impossible to ignore them since they stand out in an odd sort of way. Maybe a challenging and unique way to give your mind something to chew on while all the fast drum parts are easily swapped in and out down below. This track isn’t a total left turn from the clean and calm nature of the previous tracks on the EP, but as a compositional technique, it is actually pretty shrewd.

Once again, the Italian artist proves his ability to craft euphoric techno, releasing “Divine Nostalgia” on the famed Fuse imprint. All around an excellent addition to your record collection.
