These challenging times have opened an opportunity for people to show alternate identities and Romy has revealed that she is a great DJ and can create an uplifting electronic music experience. Her sets are full of positive vibes and her dance anthem “Lifetime” elegantly synthesizes that optimistic spirit. Included in the release are four remixes which are great extensions that could serve as a therapy session proposed to connect with four corners of our personalities:
Jayda G’s tribal/jungle intro opens up with a touch of funk and progresses with soft house raising with energy towards more urban tunes. The piano notes meshed with Romy’s soul-esque voice fuels a catchy outro and will almost force you to jam along.
First-class electro by Planningtorock enraptures and beckons you to the dancefloor. Potent sound blended with non-conforming digitized voice samples. Huffing and puffing effects add edge when added to pounding frequences. An excellent remix, very fit for cutting some rug.
Urban ambient tones conform a positive mood in HAAi’s remix. It makes you perceive a chillout atmosphere where Romy’s crystallized voice recites lyrics almost acapella while a combination of reverb and dry sounds build in the background to finally take over with zest forming a really nice multisensorial effect.
Anz’s Togetherness remix is loaded with classic house and r&b arrangements from beginning to end. A good ensemble of orchestra, piano, and other instruments conform familiar melodies and Romy’s voice appears with different modulations. The British house-street mood this remix has is undeniable and the catchy mainstream approach makes us feel like we all belong together. Romy tops things off with a celebratory full of powerpuff honest finale, waving flags as we parade down main street and reaffirming that electronic music is the cure for the soul.
