LUNA III brings heavy energy in a laid back format. Stimulated from acid induced groove, Alessandro Arudi weaves growing patterns throughout all three tracks.
L’allunaggio keeps it’s downtempo pace while invigorating senses, provoking the listener to stay on edge. Sultry and deep, it provides a sense of awe. Flowing nicely into Grotta calcarea (limestone cave), with mesmerizing breaks and reverbing hand pans. As the listener falls deeper into a trance like state, a melodic synth takes over. An impressive warmth almost sneaks up and wraps up what could surely be considered a cave theme. Taking a page out of Pink Floyd’s book, finishing track L’altra faccia della luna, inspires a portrait of an extra terrestrial lunar landscape. The other side of the moon (in English) presents the closing chapter to this seemingly beyond atmospheric EP. Audible lasers emit enticing phrases which begged to be followed by foreshadowed drum rhythms. A Solid release overall, best listened to in succession.
