Hailing from Chamonix, France and run by Belgian DJ/Producer Philippe Petit is Knotweed Records. Celebrating a decade of techno this year, the label brings us yet another stellar and well polished release provided by Argentinian producer Dying.
The record is a four-tracker exploring several themes with driving bangers punctuated by detuned synths and classic elements defining contemporary and elegant techno. Close your eyes and you get lost in an ethereal journey alongside a pleiad of mystic synth sounds, topped with rolling bass lines and deep heavy kicks. Turn left and you will end on ‘Gate 7’, a divine piece influenced by Detroit’s classic electro: the 808 and 303 are here to enchant you. Intricate, powerful, delicate and trippy.
